Collections in X++, Dynamyth-Busters episode 1

Here you are the first episode of Dynamyth-busters, the video series where we put the Technical side of D365FO to the test, and, as a bonus, we learn together along the way. In this chapter we are going to talk about collections in X++, don’t miss it!

Collections in X++, Dynamyth-Busters episode 1

Summary of the video

We are going to go through 4 types of collections available in X++, Containers, lists, set and Arrays, seeing the different characteristics of them and putting their performance into the test. For doing that, we are going to use the Trace Parser to get the measures and apply the scientific method to them, calculating the Average and Standard-deviation, and afterwards trying to find the behaviour of the function while the number of elements increase.

Conclusions

All the four collections are very useful, and it is good to know their strengths and weakness in order to make the better choice for our developments:

Therefore, I encourage you to learn how to use all of them and if you want a quick overview and you didn’t already, watch the video!!
